Department of Medical Retina and Vitreo-Retina Surgery

In the vitreo-retinal department the deseases of the posterior part of the eye are studied and treated. Our extensive education and experience in the treatment of a wide variety of deseases of the posterior part of the eye allow us to select the best strategy for each patient.

In close collaboration with the department of paediatric ophthalmology a diagnostic study is carried out and paediatric ophthalmological conditions such as precocity retinopathy, congenital retinoschisis, paediatric ophthalmic inflammations, congenital dystrophies of the retina and the pigment epithelium, as well as selected injuries.

Our unit, using the most state-of-the-art equipment, following the latest ophthalmological protocols is in a position to offer medical care of the highest level. It has a diagnostic (medical) department and a surgical department.
