Prevention - Advice

There is no special advice regarding the prevention of cataract. When there are relevant indications we should intervene at the right time in order to avoid the problems that a mature cataract may cause in the operating room. Since however the pathogenesis of the cataract may be connected to the sunlight, it is best that we protect our eyes from the sun from a young age, using the right sunglasses, eg. sunglasses that absorb the harmful ultraviolet and high-energy sun rays.

Finally, we should note that the operation for the removal of the cataract is the most common, but also, most successful surgical operation in the whole of the Medical Science world.
