Department of Cataract
What are the advantages of the method?
The technique of cataract removal through a tiny incision, using drops offers many advantages. Using this technique, the patient takes up his everyday routine immediately, from the very next day after the operation. The patient remains in the operating room for a lot shorter period of time and need not stay in hospital. The operation does not require general anaesthesia nor anaesthesia with needles. During the operation no stiches are placed since they may cause discomfort or astigmatism postoperatively. The incision heals more quickly and naturally. All the above lead to less possible intraoperative and postoperative complications and as a result, vision is restored more quickly.
