The hazing of the lens capsule or secondary cataract

The opacification of the lens capsule, is called secondary cataract and vision may progressively diminish significantly. In this case, we use a special laser beam which painlessly breaks the opacificated membrane and restores the vision. This is recorded in approximately 10% of the patients undergoing cataract surgery. This operation may be performed at the office, so the patient does not need to stay in hospital.
