Charalambos Rallatos is an ophthalmology surgeon specialized in the microsurgery of the retina.
He graduated with honors cum laude from the National University of Athens and continued with postgraduate studies in ophthalmic immunology and intraocular inflammations in the University of Harvard in Boston U.S.A. He got his degree in ophthalmology from the University Ophthalmology Clinic of Athens and continued with postgraduate studies in retina and hyaline surgery in Tulane University of New Orleans in the U.S.A.
He is specialized in retina abruption treatment, in the removal of intraocular membranes and masses, in paediatric vitrectomy, in pale macula microsurgery, as well as in the use of laser beams.
He was part of the team which was the first to isolate the ophthalmic cicatricial pemphigoid antigen and holds the world patent in the treatment of retina abruption.
